A huge cannabis factory was discovered inside an industrial unit in Birmingham.
Police saw a gang attempting to break into the unit in Eyre Street, Ladywood, on Monday, December 28 – but as officers approached, the group fled in two cars.
Around 1,000 cannabis plants were found inside and cops also recovered weapons and further plants from a car nearby.

West Midlands Police’s force support unit tweeted a picture from the scene – which can be viewed above – showing rows of illicit plants growing under artificial lights.
A spokesman for the force said: “Around 1,000 plants have been seized after a suspected cannabis factory was discovered in Eyre Street, Birmingham, this morning.
” Officers on patrol came across a group of people attempting to break into an industrial unit. The group fled in two cars as officers approached.
” Cannabis plants were found inside and officers also recovered weapons and further plants from a car nearby.
” Enquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to contact us.”
