Two 34-year-old men were behind bars Thursday night in connection with a countywide investigation into a string of more than 30 commercial burglaries that also turned up a clandestine cannabis growing operation, sheriff’s officials said.

The burglaries — the details of which were scarce Thursday evening — resulted in losses to San Diego County businesses totaling more than $130,000, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Kelly Moody.

One of the latest burglaries occurred at a business near Rancho San Diego and led sheriff’s detectives from the crime suppression team to identify two suspects, Moody said in a statement.

On Thursday, detectives served a pair of search warrants in unincorporated Lakeside and unincorporated Spring Valley, where they arrested the two suspects, recovered items stolen from the Rancho San Diego business and discovered an unlawful cannabis…
