(MENAFN) On Sunday, Sep. 26 local press said in a report that Morocco’s security services have halted two smuggling drives of over ten tonnes of cannabis.
Barlamane.com news website stated that in the first drive, over eight tonnes of cannabis were confiscated on Saturday by the Royal Gendarmerie aboard a truck parked in an agricultural area in the central city of Taroudant.
It further said that a lot of people with suspected connection with a criminal drug smuggling network were detained.
Official RIM radio said in a report that an overall of two tons of cannabis were confiscated in the second drive in the city of Agadir.
