The Alberta-based cannabis company, High Tide Inc., has been tapped to assist the establishment of a Hamilton retail cannabis store.
The unnamed second winner of the Ontario government’s lottery to create one of 25 private retail stores is expected to set up the pot shop in the Hamilton area. The privately-held corporation did not disclose the name of the lottery winner.
High Tide entered into a letter of intent with the lottery winner, who contacted the Alberta company for support in establishing a location.
The agreement is subject to regulatory approval and involves the acquisition of a minority interest and financial incentive for its assistance. Financial terms were not disclosed.
