There are three applications for licensed brick and mortar cannabis retails stores in the area.
Two of which are in Hanover, and one in Walkerton.
The application for VIP Cannabis Company at 302 10th Street in Hanover is in progress, as too is the application for Rooted Zen Cannabis Co. at 209 10th Street.
Raymond Kahnert, senior advisor of communications with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, said via email that the 14-day public notice period for the proposed Rooted Zen Cannabis Co. location was from Sept. 19 to Oct. 3. There was one objection submitted.
The application for Cannabis Legend at 206 Durham Street in Walkerton is in progress, too. The 14-day public notice for this proposed location was from Sept. 7-21.
According to Kahnert, there were 11 comments submitted.
