BENSON — The Benson Town Board held a regular meeting on June 15.
Present for the meeting were Supervisor John Stortecky; council members D. Pincombe, D. Rogers and Tad Davis; Hwy. Supt. G. Blowers, and Town Clerk J. Cox.
Council member C. Biche was absent.
Members of the public present were Frank Fernandez, Rob DeRobiere and Phil Snyder.

Appointed positions give too much authority to those doing the appointing in my opinion.

RESOLUTION NO. 2
AUTHORIZING PROPOSED LOCAL LAW NO. 3 OF 2021, OPTING OUT OF LICENSING AND ESTABLISHING RETAIL CANNABIS DISPENSARIES AND/OR ON-SITE CANNABIS CONSUMPTION ESTABLISHMENTS WITHIN THE TOWN OF BENSON, TO BE SUBJECTED TO A MANDATORY REFERENDUM.

Whereas, the town board of benson has held a public hearing on proposed local law no. 3 of 2021 opting out of licensing and establishing retail cannabis dispensaries and/or on-site cannabis consumption establishments within the town of benson, and
WHEREAS, interested members of the public were given the opportunity to be heard, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that this local law shall be subject to a mandatory referendum to be held at the next regularly scheduled General Election on November 2, 2021.
