A 14-year-old boy was arrested after a cannabis factory – and a machete – was found at a house in Toxteth.
The discovery was made at 11.20pm on Thursday when locals reported seeing a number of men action suspiciously outside the address.
Officers descended on the property on Ritson Street and uncovered a cannabis farm of 72 plants, along with a weapon, although it not clear what this was used for.
A 20-year-old man, from Toxteth, was arrested at the scene while a second youth, aged just 14, from Aigburth, was detained and both were taken away for questioning.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of burglary, cannabis cultivation and possession of a controlled drug and possession of an offensive weapon.
