NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 12 – Roots Party Leader George Wajackoyah has revived debate on legalization of Marijuana for medicinal use to manage chronic illnesses.
During the requiem mass of veteran News Anchor Catherine Kasavuli, Wajackoyah lamented that cancer is curable and there was need to focus on medical Marijuana.
“She has died of a disease that is curable and that’s why I stood up with Marijuana debate. I was not talking of the smoking aspect of it otherwise Jamaica would be a million dollar country. I was talking of Marijuana that cures Cancer, Covid-19 and other maladies,” he said.
The Roots Party Leader buttressed the need of national conversation for the commercialization of Marijuana given the cancer menace that has continued to deprive Kenyans of their loved ones.
He pointed out that countries like India, Israel and Canada which have embraced commercialization of Marijuana
“Let’s look at away or means of treating our people. Cancer is treatable, people are rushing to India to be treated and the medicine they are treated on is all made of Marijuana,” Wajackoyah said.
The 2022 presidential hopeful insisted that proper research needs to be done on manufacturing medical marijuana in order to revitalize our economy and the health sector.
