As the state health department prepares to accept applications for patients, medical leaders, and facilities cultivating cannabis, there is a new facility in the metro that is under construction.Mockingbird Cannabis LLC has broke ground and have been hard at work with plans on construction.CEO Clint Patterson explained that this company has been at the forefront of working since Initiative 65 began.”The fact that it’s law now is the culmination of more than a year of hard work on our part and also many thousands of people in the state of Mississippi who have worked really, really hard on this,” Patterson said.The location where the building will be located was formerly housed by the state department of revenue off of Springridge Road in Clinton.Patterson said that this facility will be a production-only facility, while also having an educational component.”We’ll provide training for industry people to work in dispensaries, to work in production, to work in labs. So it’s going to be an all-encompassing company as far as the industry is concerned,” Patterson said.Mockingbird is also set to have an economic impact. The facility is set to employ anywhere from 150-200 workers at the facility. This is a benefit for the surrounding areas as well.”When you have 200 new people that are going to be coming and going all the time, you’re going to have gas stations and hotels that all are going to grow up around that area. There’s also going to be a stimulation of land prices…
