Three people were arrested Saturday by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team, with two of the suspects alleged to be connected to a suspected marijuana concentrate sales operation.
Among those booked was a Carson City man, Humberto Segura, who allegedly sold marijuana concentrate cartridges to minors. Segura was booked for suspicion of violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, child abuse and neglect, child present during a controlled substance violation, possession of a controlled substance, possession for sale and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
SET officers also arrested Dario Lara-Rodriguez, 19, for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. A third person, Elizabeth Villanueva-Mendoza, 18, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, SET officers were conducting followup on an investigation, learning that a person was selling concentrated marijuana cartridges at a Lone Mountain residence.
Deputies conducted a knock and talk and Dario Lara-Rodriguez allowed them inside and spoke with the officers. Officers observed marijuana in plain view, as well as a bong and grinder. The report notes both of the residents in the home were under the age of 21.
Lara-Rodriguez told SET deputies he gets the marijuana cartridges from a California source and sells them for $40 each on social media, the report states.
The followup investigation led to a search warrant of the residence and of the 19-year-old’s phone. Officers located multiple marijuana pipes, paraphernalia, marijuana concentrate cartridges and marijuana bud weighing 52 grams, and $7,715 in cash, the report states.
Further investigation led to an arrest of Humberto Segura for allegedly selling marijuana concentrate cartridges to minors after messages on his phone were found that stated he is selling marijuana products to minors, according to the arrest report.
Bail amount for Segura: $40,000. Bail amount for Lara-Rodriguez: $20,000. Bail amount of Villaneuva-Mendoza, $3,637.

— A 60-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, disobedience to a traffic control device, no valid insurance, not having vehicle registration and speeding.
According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a driver going at a high rate of speed, estimated going 40 mph in a 25 mph zone. While pacing the vehicle, the driver failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of North Carson and East Long Street.
