CBG The Next CBD DarlingPosted by On

Cannabigerol, or CBG, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in low THC or high-CBD cannabis strains. As with THC, Cannabigerol reacts with brain cannabinoid receptors. However, CBG lessens paranoia induced by high concentrations of THC. It also has some very promising health benefits.

THC and CBD have gained great exposure and are now widely recognized. Interest on the effects of Cannabigerol has been mainly untested, although awareness has been rapidly increasing.

What is Cannabigerol

CBG is a natural compound contained in cannabis plants. It first needs to be produced before compounds such as THC and CBD can form within the plant.

Marijuana plants first produce CBG and then turn it into the most common cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD.

CBG is primarily found in hemp plants. Strains bred for elevated THC levels typically contain very little (under 1%). On the other hand, higher CBD strains have much greater levels of CBG.

At the plant level CBGa is divided into CBDa and THCa through an enzyme mechanism. Which then become psychoactive THC and non-psychoactive CBD through energy. CBG isn’t going to get you high, its similar to CBD acting as a non-psychoactive cannabinoid.

What are the Benefits

Functioning like a balancing cannabinoid, where you feel euphoric, and content without being stoned CBG acts like a mood lifter.

CBG has a wide range of health advantages including acting as a neuroprotectant, antioxidant, with antibacterial and antifungal skin properties. In the right dosages it can also act as a stimulation of appetite. Treat gastrointestinal disorders, reduce inflammation and may help as a cancer treatment.

Researchers around the world think that CBG advantages can significantly influence mental, physical, and social health. CBG operates with the endocannabinoid receptors of the body and seems to interact a with many of the other receptors.

Research and Potential Benefits

CBG is being researched and studied for all its benefits and potential future advantages. More scientific research and studies are needed before scientific confirmation of any benefit(s) is possible.

Research have discovered some techniques in cultivating and harvesting for achieving higher concentrations of CBG in marijuana plants.

Because intraocular pressure in the eye is reduced, it has been identified as a valuable and efficient therapy for glaucoma. Cannbigerol also shows neuroprotective characteristics in laboratory studies with mice. Systemic inflammation that classify inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) was also discovered to be efficient in reducing.

So far research studies have found that CBG could be regarded ” as a very promising and unique cannabinoid and a potential treatment for many diseases”.
