Police began their investigation after the child became ill and lethargic after accepting some cookies and jujubes from another youth at Woodstock’s Southside skate park late Saturday afternoon.

Because the suspect is still unknown, police said they didn’t know if the other youth intentionally offered the child pot-infused products or provided the treats by mistake.

The incident in Woodstock follows an Aug. 13 bulletin from Health Canada that was issued after several children were hospitalized after accidentally consuming cannabis edibles.

According to Health Canada, these cannabis edibles were illegal – and therefore not in clearly marked packaging – and looked similar…
