AUTHORITIES raided an alleged marijuana plantation at Barangay Nataban in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental at about 8 a.m. yesterday, June 24.

Lieutenant Ruby Aurita, deputy chief of San Carlos City police said the raid also resulted in the arrests of Armando Quejado, 27, and Peter Loar, 30, both residents of the barangay’s Hacienda Handalago.

Aurita said both suspects are considered street-level individuals.

She said the raid was conducted on information from a concerned citizen that the duo is cultivating marijuana plants in the area.

Some 57 fully grown marijuana plants weighing 2,000 grams or at least two kilograms valued at P240,000 and a bolo were recovered during the raid, police records showed.

The raid was jointly conducted by the San Carlos City Police, the Regional Police Drugs Enforcement Unit-Western Visayas, Regional Intelligence Division-Western Visayas, the 2nd Mobile Patrol Group, the 605th Regional Mobile Force Battalion-Western Visayas, Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Maritime Group.
