Hundreds of cannabis plants were seized in an East Lancashire drug bust.

Lancashire police officers attended an address in the town of Darwen on Saturday (October 17) after information about drug-dealing was passed to the constabulary via the anonymous reporting service Crimestoppers.

This led to the confiscation of 300 cannabis plats which Lancashire Constabulary say made up part of a “sophisticated cannabis cultivation”.

A man in connection to the large cannabis farm and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Lancashire police said: “Officers from Team five Blackburn have been busy dismantling a sophisticated cannabis cultivation of 300 plants in Darwen following Crimestoppers information.

“An Albanian male has been arrested by Team five’s ED50 Officers, and enquiries are ongoing.

“It’s with your help that we are able to take these drugs of the streets and reduce the damage it does to families and communities.”
