WEST UNION, W.Va. One person is behind bars after deputies with the Doddridge County Sheriff’s Department said the subject admitted to growing marijuana in his home.
On Dec. 16, police stopped a car driven by Christopher Martin, 39, for not having a registration plate in the Grove Summers Road area.
Deputies said as Martin exited the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car and from Martin.
Martin told deputies he was test driving their vehicle, had purchased it the day before, and did not have insurance.
When deputies searched the vehicle, they found a firearm, a bag of suspected marijuana, and a bag of suspected methamphetamine.
When deputies searched Martin, they recovered three packages of Grower’s Choice cannabis seeds, according to reports. Martin also allegedly told deputies the marijuana was grown by him at his home. Martin went on to tell deputies that he ordered the seeds through the mail.
Martin has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
