A dad from County Durham is trying to raise money for life-changing cannabis oil medication to help his epileptic daughter who suffers from terrifying seizures.
Justin Boulton, 39, and wife Kat, from Fishburn, are fighting to help their six-year-old daughter Marley who has refractory epilepsy which they said can be controlled by medical cannabis oil.
The parents first noticed a problem at two-years-old when Marley’s foot kept constantly shaking and she was taken to see the doctor.
Her symptoms began to become more noticeable as she had trouble with her balance and suffered from seizures which Justin admitted was “scary” at times.
After various tests in different hospitals, Marley was brought back to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where the parents were told she had a gene mutation which was particularly rare.
Despite trying a various amount of anti-epileptic drugs, Marley was left suffering from the many side-effects and Justin decided it was time to try out cannabis oil.
However, Justin said it could take a long time waiting for an NHS prescription so decided to pay for the drug privately and has since seen a massive improvement in Marley.
