Cole Thomson has finally received a prescription for whole plant medical cannabis – and his family’s harrowing journey to get there will be documented on TV tonight.
The brave six-year-old will feature on the BBC documentary Disclosure: Can Cannabis Save My Child? which shows his desperate mum Lisa Quarrell taking matters into her own hands as she fights to find a cure for her son’s drug resistant epilepsy.
The News has told how Lisa has fought tirelessly over the last year to gain access to the medicine Bedrolite CBD to treat Cole’s paralysing daily seizures and give him a fighting chance at life.
But, despite medicinal cannabis being legalised last year, the youngster has been denied access to the drug on the NHS, meaning Lisa is having to source up to £2500 a month to fund a private prescription recently acquired from London’s Portland Hospital.
