Demand is high at the first medical marijuana dispensary to open in the Kansas City area. Hundreds of patients have been through Fresh Green Dispensary in Lee’s Summit since they opened Monday, some waiting up to seven hours in line. For security, the dispensary keeps a one-to-one patient-employee ratio, so only a few patients can come in at a time. Bianca Sullivan, who owns the dispensary with her husband, Rob, said she has been surprised by the magnitude of the demand.On Tuesday, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services said it’s investigating a complaint of mold on marijuana from a St. Louis-area dispensary. While Fresh Green uses the same cultivator, Sullivan said they don’t carry the specific strain that’s in question. Per protocol, all of their product is tested before going on the shelves.
