In August of 2004, the Pinal County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the marked patrol division, seized 2,927 pounds of marijuana from two vehicles near Stanfield.

The marijuana-filled, construction-type panel trucks were headed to the Phoenix area but stopped short of their destination by law enforcement.

A search of both vehicles resulted in the arrest of three Mexican nationals, Jesus Miranda-Cota, Enrique Leon and Zamar Carbajal Serrano. The three were charged with numerous drug offenses.
