The city of Forest Park, Ohio is making marijuana possession a minor misdemeanor.On Monday night, city council members passed an ordinance removing penalties for the offense.It’s only for amounts up to 200 grams.According to the ordinance, Ohio has already reduced penalties for marijuana possession, so the city is following suit.Plus, officials said public perception of the drug has changed.”The city of forest park is really setting the tone as really innovative in policy making, and we just want to make sure that as new industry and new business comes to our community, our residents are also benefiting from the laws that are related to this new industry,” Mayor Aharon Brown said. The move also comes after President Joe Biden took executive action to pardon federal offenses of simple marijuana possession.
