My father is a humble man who has spent primal years of his teens in the village. Often my bedtime stories would be his memoirs from the millet farm and his spine-chilling encounters with the dacoits of U.P in the dark hour. If not that, he would tell me stories of the struggle and shenanigans of the simpletons. A rather distinct story; which I quite recently got to know because of my qualified age of maturity is that of ‘Baba ji’.
Babaji was a man in the village who revered Lord Shiva and worshipped the deity by smoking chillum right before laying feet on the ground to falling asleep with the pipe beside him. So much so that he had replaced the tulsi in his courtyard with marijuana plant!
