GREENVILLE — From the initial level of conversation and debate to now drafting of zoning and enforcement ordinances, city leaders have taken their first steps in navigating the community toward the legalized commercial sale and growth of marijuana.
The Greenville City Council voted during a special meeting Thursday to have ordinances drafted that would permit the retail sale of medical marijuana and industrial growth and processing of both medical and recreational marijuana. During a special meeting of the Greenville City Council last Thursday, held via Zoom, council members continued conversation on the subject of medical marijuana.
During November’s meeting, the council voted to “proceed and consider a medical marijuana ordinance.”
And during Thursday’s meeting, the council moved forward yet again, casting votes directing the city’s legal counsel…
