Live Traffic NSW confirmed the truck has now been sidelined as authorities continue to deal with the vehicle.

Traffic heading inbound to the city is now facing significant delays in the morning peak.

Cars are banked up from Macquarie Park onto the Gore Hill Freeway to the Lane Cove Tunnel before hitting the M2 into the city.

A spokesperson for Live Traffic NSW said there would certainly be delays into the city throughout the morning commute.

“Typically, the M2 inbound to the city will have delays, but this one is significant and will be remaining for the morning peak,” he said.

Two Way Cranes confirmed the truck that blocked the tunnel was one of theirs and are currently investigating the situation.
