How To Grind Weed Without A Grinder

Weed grinders are specially designed for the perfect way to grind weeds. But how do you grind your weed without a grinder.  What do you do if you haven’t got a grinder on hand? Most weed smokers know that grinding the weed before you smoke it is one of the most critical factors to getting a smooth and enjoyable experience. The standard route is to take out your grinder specially designed for this purpose; however, what do you do when you’ve been caught off guard, or there is no grinder on hand?

Fortunately, this article will share eight tips on how to grind your weed without a grinder, so that you can always be ready to enjoy your next smoke session no matter where you are. Let’s get into it.

Method 1 – The blender

Okay, while this method may not be the most elegant entry on our list, it gets the job done. If you want to turn your weed into a finely ground powder that smokes like a dream, the blender will be your best bet. Yes, it may be a little excessive, but just about every home has a blender of some sort, and it grinds up your bud in seconds. Just make sure you close the lid before you switch it on.

Method 2 – Mortar and pestle

It’s time to take your weed out of the cannabis container and bring it to the kitchen. You’re now ready to turn yourself into a real hipster by using the mortar and pestle method. These seemingly ancient kitchen tools are literally designed for grinding up foods into a powder, so why not set them to work on your weed. Simply put your weed into the mortar, grab your pestle, and start grinding away until it’s a fine powder.

Method 3 – Coffee grinder

Time to get hipster again. If you have a coffee grinder in your house, this can double down as a handy cannabis grinder. This is one of the fastest and easiest ways to grind up your weed. Carefully place it into the grinder and switch it on. Just make sure that you ask the person whose coffee grinder it is first. If they are coffee connoisseur, they’ll surely notice a strange taste when they have their cup of morning coffee the next day.

Method 4 – Knife and a cutting board

Taking it back to the old school. If you haven’t got a grinder or blender, then it’s time to turn to more rudimentary tactics. Take a cutting board, grab yourself a sharp knife, and get to work on the bud. The beauty of this method is that you can be as precise as you wish. If you want to cut the bud up into really a fine powder, you can, or if you prefer your weed a little chunkier, then you’re in control.

Method 5 – Cheesegrater

A cheese grater is an easy option if your cannabis is on the drier side. You might struggle with the cheese grater if you have some sticky weed that has been well preserved in marijuana mylar bags or even a tightly packed weed bottle. This is because the stickier the weed gets, the more of it will get trapped inside the grater.

If your cannabis has been dried out properly, then grab yourself a cheese grater and get to work. Just make sure you have something ready to catch all the precious cannabis that falls through.

Method 6 – Scissors

Similarly to the cheese grater method, scissors can be great for chopping up your weed – as long as it’s not too sticky. The sharper the scissors are, the better. Just watch out – it’s easy for weed to go flying around the room, which means you end up losing your bud. A simple trick to avoid this is to put the weed inside a shot glass while you cut it away, preventing any from escaping.

Method 7 – Pill bottle and a coin

Here is an alternative method for you. Take out an empty pill bottle and put your bud inside. Once it’s in there, you need to accompany it with something heavy, like a coin that’s going to cut it up. Next, shake the pill bottle like there’s no tomorrow. The coin should bounce about the pill bottle, grinding the weed until it is a fine powder. Again, this may not work so great if the weed is very sticky.

Method 8 – Use your hands

If all else fails and you don’t have access to any of the above-listed items, it’s time to use your hands. All you have to do is grab your bud and pull it apart with your fingers. Unfortunately, you’re not going to be able to turn your weed into a finely ground powder with this method, but don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get into a smokable state, and that’s all that matters.

If you’ve been watching your bud growing in cannabis flower containers for months on end, it can be easy to get impatient and harvest the weed while it’s still too wet. If that sounds like you, and you are struggling to grind your weed because it’s too sticky, the best thing you can do is leave out to dry for a little while until it is easier to break down or stick it in the freezer for 30 minutes to dry it out.
