Huge cannabis farm busted in Haslingden town centre by policePosted by On

A large cannabis growing operation has been found by police in Haslingden town centre.

Officers from Rossendale Police executed a search warrant at the property earlier today (January 8).

No details have been released about the number of cannabis plants seized or in any arrests have been made.

However the force did say that the drugs ‘would ultimately of ended up being sold throughout Rossendale and beyond’.

Police members involved in the operation posted a picture of the haul on Facebook tonight and appears to show hundreds of plants in a large room along with fans and heating lamps.

A force spokesperson said: “Haslingden residents, earlier today Officers recovered a large amount of cannabis from an address in the town centre.

“This would ultimately of ended up being sold throughout Rossendale and beyond no doubt with no care or consideration for the damage it will cause.

“Enquiries are ongoing in relation to this matter so unfortunately we cannot comment any further at this time.”

LancsLive reported last week how more than 40 cannabis set-ups were discovered across Lancashire during 2020, including many in the Rossendale and East Lancashire area.
