A cannabis farm worth a quarter of a million pounds has been discovered in Alum Rock.
Officers raided an address on Glenpark Road following concerns from the local community and found rooms filled with the crops.
There was no reports of any arrests as Birmingham East NFT tweeted details including images of the illicit set-up on Saturday (December 5).afternoon.
They tweeted: “Team 2 have found and destroyed this cannabis farm on Glenpark Road, Alum Rock.
“Funding organised crime. That’s £250,000 of cannabis off the streets and a potentially lethal electricity bypass made safe.
“Thanks to the local community raising concerns.
“We are listening.”
Some of the tell-tale signs of a property being used as a cannabis farm include:
*A strong, sweet, leafy odour coming from an address
*A constant low humming noise
*Windows blacked out or curtains drawn all day
*Large silver ducting tubes coming from the property
*Powerful lights on at night.
