TABUK CITY, Kalinga: City and provincial police operatives and anti-drug agents led the eradication of 12,000 fully-grown marijuana plants in Sitio Binongsay, Malin-awa on August 4 and 5.
Maj. Garry Gayamos, Kalinga police spokesman, said P2.4 million worth of marijuana plants were uprooted from a 1.2-hectare plantation.
No cultivators were arrested in the operation.
The teams that implemented the operation, dubbed “Oplan Lindol,” include drug enforcement operatives of the Kalinga provincial drug enforcement and intelligence units, PDEA-Kalinga, Tabuk and Tanudan police; 1st and 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, 501st and 1503rd MC, RMFB15, and other representatives.
“This operation was the result of the collaborative effort of the local law enforcement partners, with the public providing the information,” Gayamos said.
