Harrisburg’s Kipona: The Kipona Festival in the capital will be held from Saturday-Monday, with artists, food, musical acts and kids’ programming. Sunday will have a laser light show at the river instead of fireworks. Police presence will be stepped up.

Allentown Fair: The Great Allentown Fair is running through Monday. It has traditional events, such as livestock shows and a demolition derby, along with rides, concerts, food and even a (fake) dinosaur display.

Gas prices: People traveling for the Labor Day 2022 holiday will pay almost $1 a gallon less for gas than they did for the Fourth of July holiday. Gas prices have declined for 11 weeks straight.

Marijuana pardons: For a short time, Pennsylvanians with minor, nonviolent marijuana criminal convictions will be eligible to be pardoned under a program led by the governor’s office.

Volunteers return: Four months after being closed over safety and other concerns, the Highspire volunteer fire company is back in service.
