(Pierre, SD) — A legislative committee is changing South Dakota’s medical marijuana policy. The Legislature’s Rules Review Committee is moving forward with removing a requirement that the Department of Health determine the effectiveness of current available treatments when deciding if a condition qualifies for medical marijuana use. The department also has the go-ahead to reword a policy that requires the benefits of using medical marijuana outweigh the risks.
