A man has been arrested in connection with a drug raid in Hamilton.

Police allegedly found cannabis worth £17,000 as well as a five-figure sum of cash during a recovery operation in the town yesterday (July 21).

A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident but has been released on undertaking to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court at a later date.

During the raid, two flats and a car were searched.

Detective Inspector Laura Sands, of Lanarkshire CID said: “This recovery highlights our continued commitment in Lanarkshire to disrupting drug activity and supply within our communities.
