Thomaston — Marijuana entrepreneur Mark Crockett hopes to expand his current business and open a new one on New County Road in Thomaston.
Crockett owns Cannabis Cured, a medical marijuana dispensary located at 151 New County Road. The shop sells marijuana products to adults ages 21 or older who have a medical card.
Cannabis Cured also sells CBD and glass products, though adults are not required to have a medical card to purchase those.
Crockett has begun the application process to open a retail marijuana store named Green Alien Cannabis Company at 155 New County Road, formerly The Feed Store.
Crockett has also applied to add a retail marijuana edibles production facility at Cannabis Cured, which requires an amendment to the Thomaston Land Use Ordinance.
The two applications, handled by lawyer Hannah King of Drummond Woodsum law firm, went before the Thomaston Planning Board Dec. 16. The board approved both requests. The next step for both is a site plan review.
The Green Alien Cannabis Company would operate as an adult use marijuana retail store. King said they would sell prepackaged products to consumers ages 21 or older.
These products would be purchased from marijuana cultivators, and the store would not be preparing or producing any goods at the location.
