ANN ARBOR, MI – A man with pockets overflowing with items stolen from an Ann Arbor marijuana dispensary was arrested trying to sell those items Thursday morning.

Police responded to an active alarm at 5:37 a.m. May 26, at the Bloom City dispensary, 429 Miller Ave., for a reported burglary in progress, according to the Ann Arbor Police Department.

While on the way to the scene, officers were contacted by the owner who reported seeing a man on security cameras rummaging through the shop’s office taking random items, police said.

Officers arrived to find a window smashed open and the front door now unlocked, believed to be the way the man fled the area prior to police arriving, police said.

Officers reviewed the security footage and, based on previous interactions, recognized the suspect as a 28-year-old Ann Arbor man, police said.

Police found the man outside Miller Manor Apartment, 727 Miller Ave., attempting to sell passersby various items seen “overflowing” out of his pockets, police said.

The man attempted to flee and was chased down by officers who used a taser to subdue him and arrest him, police said.

Officers searched the man and recovered 44 items believed to be taken from the shop, many of which had Bloom City logos on them, police said. The items taken included CBD oils, pipes, papers, gummies and various other dispensary products, police said.
