Northport — Selectmen received permit applications to sell adult recreational marijuana products Jan. 13 from two medical marijuana caregivers with existing businesses in the town, John Lorenz, owner with his wife, Ploy, of Sweet Relief, and Tammy Maseychik, who owns Sunflower Farmacy. Both businesses are on Route 1.

Town Administrator Barbara Ashey said the two business owners are scheduled to appear before the Planning Board Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m. If their applications are found to be in order, the selectmen will vote at a future meeting, Ashey said, on whether to grant the permits.

Lorenz is applying to add space for adult recreational products to his business, while Maseychik wants to switch her business from medical marijuana to adult recreational sales, according to the Planning Board agenda.

In addition, Ashey said, the town is seeking to sell its 1974 pumper fire truck for $5,000, with bids due Jan. 24, and the sale is expected to be awarded at the Jan. 27 selectmen’s meeting.
