A man has died after being fatally stabbed during a fight in Melbourne’s CBD.
Emergency services were called to Bourke Street about 5.45am on Sunday following reports of a serious assault.
Paramedics treated two men who had sustained stab wounds before transporting them both to hospital in a critical condition.
One of the men, who is yet to be formally identified, later died in hospital.
The second man remains in hospital.
Victorian Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man following the alleged assault.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
A crime scene has been established in the Melbourne city. Bourke Street remains closed between Elizabeth Street and Queen Street.
