GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) – Pierre Part native Jarrod Alleman has a new business in Ascension Parish. Alleman owns Shangri LA in Gonzales. The store sells hemp-derived products including CBD, THC and other cannabinoids for humans and pets in the form of tinctures, topicals and edibles.
Alleman said, “All of our products have been third-party lab tested, have certificates of analysis, and are approved by the Louisiana Department of Health.”
According to the Alcohol and Drug Foundation, “The word cannabinoid refers to every chemical substance, regardless of structure or origin, that joins the cannabinoid receptors of the body and brain and that have similar effects to those produced by the Cannabis Sativa plant.” CBD and THC are examples of cannabinoids.

Shangri LA held a soft opening in February but the official grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, April 15. Alleman said he is offering 20% off all sales on the day of the grand opening and Thursday, April 20 — 4/20 is considered a cannabis-related holiday.
