Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized Sunday morning some 217 kilos of marijuana worth P26 million in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of three people, including a woman, engaged in wholesale and retail of various products from Cordillera to Balintawak market in Quezon City. They were identified as businesswoman Dianne Irene Rodriguez Cambalicer, 37; Louie Mark Cuballes Cuerdo, 29; and Angelo Buenaventura Pascual, 22.

Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), said the operation stemmed from an intelligence report about the buying and selling of marijuana in bulk at the Balintawak area. The items are believed to be directly coming from the Cordilleras.

A buy-bust was then mapped out and resulted in the confiscation of marijuana in front of a heavy equipment and supply store on EDSA in Barangay Apolonio Samson in Balintawak at around 8 a.m. on Sunday.
