TINGLAYAN, Kalinga: More than P42.9 million worth of dried marijuana bricks were recovered and destroyed by police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during an operation in Sitio Silay, Barangay Poblacion here, recently.
Government forces received a tip from a concerned resident that an alleged marijuana cultivator is about to transport a huge volume of marijuana bricks from the municipality to a still undisclosed destination.
Police authorities immediately conducted an anti-drug operation in the area and were able to confiscate some 358 kilograms of dried marijuana bricks that were placed on sacks and stockpiled along the main road.
However, the joint operatives failed to arrest the alleged marijuana cultivator who is now being hunted by the police.
The recovered marijuana bricks were brought to the Kalinga provincial forensic unit for the appropriate testing and documentation.
