Officers stormed into the bedroom of a suspected drug dealer during a raid at a house doubling as a large cannabis farm.

Clever detective work led police to the drugs venture, spread across five rooms and comprising 150 plans, after raiding the property in St Helens during the early hours of today, Wednesday, September 30.

Police on patrol on Gunning Avenue noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming through the vents in their vehicle at about 1.30am.

The officers spotted condensation on the windows of a house on the street and fans could be heard inside.

On closer inspection police saw cannabis plants in the living room of the property.

A man was found in an upstairs bedroom during the successful bust.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “After seeing movement upstairs, the officers searched the premises and found a cannabis farm inside spread across five rooms with around 150 plants in total.

“They located a man in an upstairs bedroom and he was detained.”
