A haul of weapons including two samurai swords, a cosh and a baseball bat were found during a raid at a property in Stockport.

A cannabis farm was also found during the dawn raids, according to a post by GMP.

The weapons have been ‘signed over for destruction’, the GMP Stockport Facebook post said.

In the post, put up on Thursday, the force said: “Yesterday officers executed a warrant at an address in Heaton Norris, leading to a double positive result.

“Located at the address and signed over to us for destruction were one cosh, one small aluminium baseball bat, one large samurai sword and one smaller samurai sword.”

A man was detained and taken to Cheadle Heath Police Station, the post said.

He will attend the station for a ‘voluntary attendance interview’, local officers told the Manchester Evening News.
