Police retrieve stolen boat, discover marijuana field during exercisesPosted by On


Police officers recovered several stolen items including a stolen boat, vehicle and also removed a marijuana field during weekend exercises. 

In an update, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said several exercises conducted between Friday 10th and Saturday 11th February, 2023 in the North Eastern, Northern, Western, and Port of Spain Divisions resulted in the arrest of six persons. A firearm, a stolen boat, a stolen vehicle, and 23 marijuana trees were also recovered.

Officers of the North Eastern Division conducted several Operation Grandslam exercises throughout the district. One included the execution of a search warrant at a home on Wallace Road Extension, Chinapoo, Morvant on Friday 10th February, 2023.

It resulted in the alleged discovery of a Smith and Wesson nine-millimetre pistol with one magazine and 14 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition, and the arrest of a male resident at the home.

During the same exercise officers also allegedly found a black bag containing 504 grammes of marijuana during the execution of a search warrant at another home in the area. A male occupant of the home was also arrested in connection with this find.

Information obtained during an anti-crime exercise in Santa Cruz, yesterday led officers to a track along Joropo Hill, Santa Cruz. There they allegedly discovered 23 fully grown marijuana trees which were uprooted and taken to the Santa Cruz Police Station.
