Police seize P21.6-M marijuana, net 7 wanted in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Suspected marijuana valued at P21.6 million was seized and seven wanted persons were arrested in the anti-crime campaign Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) conducted by the Kalinga Provincial Police Office from Sept. 22 to 30.

Three persons transporting marijuana and one drug pusher were taken into custody, Col. Charles Domallig, Kalinga police chief, said in a report to Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, Police Regional Office-Cordillera director.

Among the seven wanted persons arrested was a former member of the New People’s Army.

Four individuals, including a retired policeman with a gun, were nabbed in a gambling den.

Five loose firearms were voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Two high value individual (HVI) drug personalities gave themselves up.

Domallig said the week-long SACLEO favorably contributed to the decline of crimes in Kalinga.

He assured the public that they will maximize their efforts in the SACLEO – formerly called “One Time, Big Time” – and are thoroughly committed to curb all forms of criminality in the province.
