Two men have been arrested and drugs with a street value of $1 million have been seized in raids targeting cannabis cultivation across Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
Detectives swooped on the pair just after noon at a property in South Morang on Wednesday.
A 31-year-old South Morang man and a 67-year-old Epping man were arrested and charged with a raft of drug-related offences.
The younger man is expected to front the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today on charges of cultivating commercial quantities of drugs, drug possession and trafficking, and theft, weapon and other offences.
The older man was charged with similar offences.
Mill Park Divisional Response Unit Sergeant Dave Shannon said it was a big win for the war on drugs in Melbourne.
“We conservatively estimate the overall street value of the drugs we have seized today to be estimated at over $1 million”…
