Brian McAllister says he has what he thinks is the ideal spot in Sarnia for a cannabis shop – it’s just going to take some time before it’s allowed to open.

McAllister’s application to open a cannabis retail store is one of 11 in Sarnia currently before Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO.)

He said the commission has given him an opening date in July 2021 for his Bogart’s Cannabis Shop at 1202 Lakeshore Rd.

“I think we have the best location, by far,” McAllister said.

The space is a former restaurant in a commercial plaza next to the busy intersection of Lakeshore and Murphy roads.

“We would love it to be a lot sooner than that, but we’re going to wait our turn…
