FORT COLLINS, Colo. (WNAX) – Now that South Dakota voters have legalized recreational and medicinal marijuana, there will be a scramble for the legislature and local governments to figure out the rules before the laws go into effect next July 1.

The State of Colorado legalized marijuana sales in 2014.

Ginny Sawyer is a Project and Policy Manager for the City of Ft. Collins and says there have several levels of licensing and enforcement that developed over several years.


Sawyer says they have some police working with the marijuana stores.
