Mar 21, Colombo: Police Special Task Force (STF) officers of Udawalawe camp during a sudden raid carried out yesterday (20) in the Aluthwela Reserve of the Koslanda Police Division have found three cannabis cultivations worth Rs. 15 million.
The cannabis plants have been cultivated in the middle of a large forest up to a height of about seven feet.
The three fields contained more than 10,000 cannabis plants, valued at over Rs. 15 million, police said.
Officers of the Udawalawe Police Special Task Force (STF) have set fire to the cannabis trees on location and investigations are underway to arrest the suspects.
