Retail store Carrefour has plans to set base in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
The supermarket is scheduled to open the CBD branch by December 2022, competing with Naivas and Quickmart chains.

The Majid Al Futtaim-owned retailer targets the lucrative CBD market as it cements its network and market base in the country.

Carrefour set its base in the country in 2017 and has since increased its branch network to 18 across parts of the country.
“We plan to open an additional branch by the end of the year. This will add up our network to 19 branches,” the store said, as reported by Capital Business.
The supermarket recently opened Kilimani and Valley Arcade, adding up to other city branches.
These include the Hub, the Village Market, Galleria Shopping Mall, the Sarit Centre, the Junction Mall, Thika Road Mall, Two Rivers Mall and Southfields Mall.
