Suspects caught trying to flush 40 pounds of marijuana down the toilet – WSB-TV Channel 2Posted by On

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County police are on a roll after getting nearly 250 pounds of marijuana off of the streets last week.

Officers say they found two suspects trying to flush more than 40 pounds of marijuana down the toilet at a home in Jonesboro on Thursday.

Investigators say they were serving a search warrant on Mount Zion Road as part of an ongoing investigation. Two men were arrested and taken to the Clayton County Jail.

Police say they recovered:

  • 41.1 pounds of marijuana
  • One pint of promethazine
  • 35 grams of mushrooms
  • 29 grams of oxycodone
  • One rifle
  • Five guns

Police have not identified the two suspects who were arrested.

Earlier this week, Clayton County police reported that they found a 14-passenger van with 190.5 pounds of marijuana on board on the same day.
