This is the moment a crossbow wielding killer fired a shuddering warning shot at an ‘army’ of burglars trying to raid a cannabis factory next door.

Saghawat Ramzan claimed he simply tried to ‘frighten’ intruders who ‘ambushed’ his address in Pensnett Road, Brierley Hill, in the early hours of February 20 last year.

But just a few minutes later the 47-year-old would reload and re-fire the ‘horrific’ weapon again, with disastrous and deadly consequences.

A jury has now convicted him of murdering his brother Waseem Ramzan and intruder Khuzaimah Douglas. The pair, aged 36 and 19 respectively, sustained fatal wounds inflicted by the crossbow.

Saghawat Ramzan’s own high-tech CCTV captured him peering over the fence of his back garden and launch a bolt into his shed at ferocious speed. It was somewhere the former Army cadet had only previously shot apples and fairground targets ‘with the family’, he said during a three-week trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

It had the desired effect as the shadowy figures seen in the footage soon ‘scarpered’ into the street where a number of getaway vehicles lay in wait.
