This is England star Andrew Shim avoids jail after he’s caught with £75k of cannabis – World NewsPosted by On

Actor Andrew Shim – who starred in This is England – has been handed a suspended jail sentence in Spain after admitting to being a drugs trafficker.

The Mirror told exclusively last month how Shim, 37, had been held behind bars for nearly eight months after being arrested by Costa del Sol police last October.

We can now reveal Nottingham-based Shim, best-known for his roles in cult Shane Meadows films A Room for Romeo Brass, This Is England and Dead Man’s Shoes, is a convicted criminal after striking a plea bargain deal with prosecutors on the day of his trial.

The American-born actor was sentenced to three years and one day in prison after admitting to a single charge of drug trafficking at a court in Malaga.

Judge Monserrat Cortes Lopez suspended the jail term but warned Shim he would be hauled to prison if he offended at any time during the next five years.

A seven-page written sentence released on July 7 also sensationally described the child star, Milky in This Is England and the subsequent TV series, as a drug addict.

His addiction was described as a contributing factor in the judge’s decision to suspend his prison sentence. The fact he had no previous convictions in Spain was given as the other reason.

Two Brit accomplices, Mattthew Adam Neale and 38-year-old Michael Regan, were also handed suspended jail sentences after admitting their role in the drugs plot smashed by Spanish police.
