LIMPOPO – A major development meeting was held by Thulamela Mayor Athingozwidvha Sarah Rambuda, Thovhele Gole Mphaphuli and his royal council, contractors, senior managers, councillors and civil society organisations at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Friday to hand over road construction projects.
Rambuda named the contractor for the construction of several streets and street lights repairs in Thohoyandou.
The entourage also visited the site to inform the communities and stakeholders about the commencement of the projects.
According to Thulamela spokesperson Nndwamato Tshiila, two projects budgeted at R25m were awarded to HTE Construction Engineers, Chauke Business Enterprise and Dawaila Phunga Joint Venture.
Rambuda said that these roads will provide basic and essential access for the local community.
“The project entails upgrading the roads and improve storm water control, road rehabilitation and solar power electrical streetlight upgrades around the Thohoyandou CBD to ensure that the roads have greatly improved safety and accessibility for residents, emergency vehicles, and essential services.”
She added Thulamela residents will benefit upon the completion of both projects as they will enjoy enhanced accessibility and connectivity within the Thohoyandou CBD.
